The “Man” in the middle

John 3: 36 (ISV)

36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who disobeys the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.

Choice boils down to making a right decision or a wrong decision depending on your point of view.  The Lord Jesus was crucified with two men, both of them committed crimes which resulting in them being hung on the cross with the Lord Jesus.  The two men both were rude and sarcastic to the Lord Jesus.

Both men had the opportunity to make amends and be with the Lord Jesus in Paradise but only one man asks the Lord ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into paradise.’  (Luke 23: 42-43).

Do you feel the joy and gladness?  This means we too can make amends with the man in the middle.

There is no account of what crimes the two men committed but we are given an example of the choices we have.  Chose life, chose the Lord Jesus.

As you focus and think about the scripture remember ‘The one who believes in the Son has eternal life.’  I want to encourage you today to make the decision of believing in the Son of God.  Let the Lord lead you and help you today.

Taking care of me

The thing with life is we sometimes forget to stop and take care our ourselves. I had a couple of friends over and my one friend looked at me saying ‘Yvette, the Lord showed me that you have been so busy and many days you sit with your hands in your hair.’ Little did she know I have been so drained and tired and to top it off I feel like there is no way out.

She reminded me that it was okay to feel tired and to actually allow myself to take a minute and relax. It was okay to say I am tired and that it was okay to take care of my own needs.

We talked about the one lady in the Bible that came to the Lord Jesus and poured the costly fragrant oil all over him. How upset the disciples were and how the Lord said that she did a good thing.

Petro said that i have been making deposits in other peoples lives and I was withdrawing out of my account and not allowing other people to make deposits. Bringing me to a place of ‘insufficient funds.’

For me to love other people I should start by loving myself, taking care of me and then looking out for the next person.

So today I started, yes I have many problems and I probably aren’t such a great person but I know that the Lord Jesus Loves me. She reminded me that Isaiah 43: 1 said ‘I have called you by name, you are MINE.’

Prayer
Abba Father please Lord teach me to take care of myself and to learn to love me with all my short comings. In the name of Jesus. Amen

Inspiration

I was thinking I needed to put pen to paper and say thank You Lord for a couple of nice things in my own life.  I have been blessed with a beautiful dress for my sisters wedding on Saturday.  I am grateful for the beautiful dress and the lovely pair of silver sandals.  My goodness they are adorable.  I am grateful for the talent of being able to bake.  My 3 tier wedding cake is done and ready to be delivered on the wedding day.

I am grateful that I was able to bake the cake and it came out so beautiful, thank You Lord.  I am grateful for the time I can spend writing.  I am grateful for the opportunity in being able to write as a Freelance Writer and be paid.  Thank You Lord.  I am grateful for the tenants the Lord has sent to us, thank You Lord.

I am grateful for the privilege to have my children and grandchildren.  They are a beautiful bunch and I love them to bits.  I am grateful for the evening so that I am able to unwind and relax.

I am also grateful for the time I can spend writing my thoughts on this blog and sharing with other people.  Inspiring them to be grateful for what they have.  Making them and me happy!

God is sovereign

My life is worthless and meaningless without the Lord my God in it.  I have come to a place in my own life that I know without a doubt that God is sovereign.  Nothing I say or do can change that, I see it in nature all around me and I see it in the lives of my family and friends.

It is an awesome feeling to know that God is all around us, watching us, keeping watch over us and caring for us.  Being grateful and appreciating my life is one of the ways I would like to say thank You to the Lord my God.

Time is always moving and we have all been allotted the same amount of time why don’t you spend some time in the Word and draw near to our Sovereign God.  He loved you so much that He sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and to be raised from the dead and sitting at the right hand of our Sovereign God.

Bless you and your friends and family in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.
