#FridayGratitude!

1 Thessalonians 5: 16 – 18 AMP

“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”

My journey has been interesting this year and my goodness something I took away this year never tells others how God is blessing you.  Let them see the blessings don’t actually go and say “God blessed me with this and that.”  I found out the minute I did that my blessings were stolen away and I felt terrible afterwards.

I am so grateful that God keeps all His promises. I have many friends and the one thing that I found is that people do not keep their promises. They failed me and I was so disappointed but then I look at them and realize they are people, it’s their nature.

My God is everything to me, I am grateful for today, I am so grateful for my job.  I am grateful for my husband and family. I am grateful that I can breathe and enjoy good health. I am grateful to God for His blessings in my life. I am grateful for open doors for my family and friends. I call on God to give each one of us the necessary wisdom and understanding for today and for the rest of the week.

I am grateful that God is in control of each one of our lives. I am grateful that I can sit here and chat with you. My hope is that God is intertwined in my life and that I will not disappoint Him.  I feel my heart leap with joy when I see God’s hand in my life. I used to magnify my problems unnecessarily and today I sparkle with joy. God’s hand is on my life. Whatever you want to ruin in my life, God is using it to grow me and strengthen me.

Prayer

Lord, humbly I stand before You, thank You for Your loving kindness and thank You for the blessings in my life. I pray that You will help me move past the people who are trying to ruin my life and let me sparkle going forward with You Spirit. Lord, I am calling on You to bless each and every person today. I pray for open doors, I pray for supernatural favour with You today as well as with people. Thank You Abba Father, I love and adore You, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Calling God’s Blessing Into my Life!

Malachi 3: 10 AMP

“Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you [so great] a blessings until there is no more room to receive it.”

How do you view blessings from God?  I used to think God needed to bless me financially. I thought it was the only way I would be blessed. As I grow older I realised that God’s blessings is in small unexpected gifts. I believe God sees a need and sends someone to address that specific need. I think God used people to do His work and we should be obedient in that way.

I know God uses all kinds of people to help others. We are His hands and feet without obedient Christians we cannot perform God’s work. I look at the people out there and I see that there is a need but there aren’t that many people out there that wants to help.

Let’s bless other people, when you see a need and you are able to assist them, why don’t you take action and do something. You might just be serving an angle of the LORD.

I think of St. Martin, he was a soldier and saw a poor beggar lying on the side of the road. It was freezing cold. Martin took his cloak and cut it in half and covered the poor guy.  He tried to help him as best he could.  That night in a vision the Lord Jesus Christ appeared to him. After this encounter Martin’s life changed drastically.

We are all looking for an encounter with the LORD, I know that I am.

Prayer

Lord, we give when we think about it but today help each one of us to give and see how You will come and speak to us. Lord I believe that we are Your hands and feet here on earth, enable each one of us to do the work You wanted us to do. Lord, thank You for Your loving kindness and thank You for Your wisdom, insight and understanding.  In the holy name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Amen

2 Thessalonians 1: 12 EVS “so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

As a secretary, I used type as a footnote on all of the documents “Lord I love You” hiding the colour and sending my documents to the relevant people for approval. It was so nice to read that Bach composed 256 cantatas. His most famous was Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring this famous soundtrack from four centuries ago is still played when a bride walks down the aisle to meet her groom. I learned that he used to initial on all his music sheets Jesu, Juya – it meant “Jesus, help me.” Bach also wrote SDG Soli Deo Gloria – to the glory of God alone at the bottom of the same music sheet.

It is my heart’s desire to seek to glorify my God. I feel that I lack in so many areas but it is my heart’s desire to seek to glorify God. I want to do the right thing at the right time, I constantly am praying please help me do this right Lord.

It was a strange day for me, I seem to be giving people a lot of lip. I want to asseverate Revelations 5 verse 13 “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them singing: ‘To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!’” Singing praises to my Lord and Saviour, the One I can trust with all my heart and soul.

In my eating and drinking and working I should be glorifying God. 1 Corinthians 10 verse 31 “so then, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of [our great] God.” I thank the Lord for my job, I am so grateful to be working this year. I am able to help others and serve God too. I am grateful that I can come to work each day and do my best work now. I am grateful for good family and friends. I am so grateful that I am healthy and God is watching over me. I want to glorify God each and every minute of my day.

In all circumstance, we should seek to glorify God. In the past couple of weeks, I have been going through a number of difficult situations. I was sitting in Church and was reminded that God is still God. Romans 8 verse 18 “For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us!” Suffering isn’t something I love or enjoy but during these difficult circumstances, I seem to bloom and grow.

Prayer

Lord, humbly I want to glorify You. I love You Lord and I know that without You I will never make it. I bring my problems to You today and I pray don’t change my circumstances but change my point of view. I am stubborn and full of nonsense help me get over myself in Jesus Christ Name, Soli Deo Gloria – to the glory of God alone. Amen

Are you positioning yourself to receive?

Proverbs 12: 15 NIV “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.

How many gifts have you received this week?  Are you open to receiving anything good each day?  The past couple of weeks I have been monitoring the gifts I receive each day.  What a great surprise.  Taking note of each gift however small I must tell you it creates expectancy as well as the feeling of gratefulness.

I am positioning myself to receive from God.  I want His gifts in my own life and if I don’t position myself to receive from God I won’t.

The past couple of weeks I have been taking note of all the gifts I receive each and every day.  I know you may think an orange is something simple but I didn’t have one at the time and received it.  A pair of sandals I loved and I received it. Sweeties, oh my goodness packets of sweeties I received them too. Unexpected lunch I received it.

I am learning to position my lap so that God is able to bless me to receive from Him.  If I don’t position myself how will God give me the desires of my heart?  What if He wants to send me on vacation to Israel or Mauritius?  My lap is open and I want to receive His gifts.

I won’t lock my mind and shut the small gifts out because I am expecting something great from my God.  I believe when the time is right opportunities will “drop into my lap.”

Position yourself to receive from God. Don’t miss the opportunities that are coming your way, be open to what God has for you.

Prayer

Today Lord please help me to react on what You show me. I am positioning myself to receive opportunities from You. Please take my thoughts captive and help me to stay open to You.  In the holy name of Christ Jesus of Nazareth. Amen

Leading by example – modelling holiness

Joshua 24: 15 NIV

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.

My granddaughters are too cute. I watch how they act around their mom. I know she loves them with all her heart. I know they drive her crazy and she still loves them. She leads them by her example. She listens to them when they tell her about their day. I know she takes them to church on Sundays and on Wednesday they have a mentorship at her home. My granddaughters are learning to live Holy lives. My son also teaches his daughter and they also have interesting encounters. I know he also takes her to church on Sundays and takes her on Wednesdays to mentorship. My kids are modelling holiness into their daughter’s lives. They are leading their children by their example. I know it isn’t easy but I see them doing this every day.

Our children are influenced by what they see we do. The Bible teaches us that we should set an example and teach our children. Children are inquisitive and will have questions. We need to Answer their questions to the best of your ability using scripture. Cell phones and computers are at our children’s disposal. Safety first, we need to teach our children to never divulge personal information over the internet. Remind your children that we can use our technology to enhance our Bible study. There are so many apps available which are useful and insightful.

Keep in mind once you teach your children about God there will be peace, joy and fulfilment in your homes. My motto for my house is “I and my house will serve the Lord my God.”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us to teach our children to live holy lives as we learn in 1 Peter 1 verses 16 “for it is written: “Be holy because I am holy.” Our children are exposed to some many things please guard them. Lord send Your angels to protect each one of our children as well as our grandchildren. Lord, I plead the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth on each of my family members. Amen

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being]. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand (forearm), and they shall be used as bands (frontals, frontlets) on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

I believe God has called us to be holy. I go to church on Sunday and attend a mentorship on Wednesday. Is this enough? No, we need to do something more. I think I need to search God’s Word daily. How would you go about becoming Holy? What is required and how will you attain it?

I believe your faith is the foundation of drawing near to God. We cannot draw near to God if we do not have faith in Him. The next step would be to love God and to focus on His Word.

I think you need to determine and decide what time and where you want to spend your time with God. Devoting your attention mainly on God’s Word and drawing near to Him. I believe when we study God’s Word we are learning more about Him. Dealing with issues in our lives and praying about what we are experiencing will create an atmosphere of understanding and love.

Another part of drawing near to God would be through prayer.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord, and today I draw near to You in humble prayer. Lord, I want to live a holy life. I love my family and friends. My life is worthless if I cannot speak to You. Show me the pathway forward, teach me and guide me, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

#Friday ~ His Mercy is New every day

Lamentations 3:22-23 (AMP)

22 It is because of the Lord’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed,
Because His [tender] compassions never fail.  23 They are new every morning;
Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.

Cross references:  Lamentations 3:22 : Mal 3:6; Lamentations 3:23 : Is 33:2

Is time flying for you as well? My goodness, I woke up on Monday and lived my life to Friday in a wink of an eye. Rising at 5 am each morning taking a shower and blow-drying my hair, getting dressed for work and waiting for the taxi at 5h45 every morning. We arrive at work before 7 am and then start our daily chores. I feel blessed today because I believe God’s mercies are new every day.

Do you have any expectations for your day? I do, only goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. Focusing my attention on my God helps me stay positive. I never feel sorry for myself early in the morning.

God’s mercies are New every day! I am expecting good things to happen to me today.

Without faith, we cannot make it through the day. I confess my sins to God early reminding Him that I am here asking Him to help me. God is eager to hear from you and me. God loved us so much He gave His son Jesus Christ for our sins. Wow! Jesus is my salvation and my God. I love Him with all my heart and soul.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord, please forgive me if I have sinned knowingly or unknowingly against You. Today I am making You a standard in my life. I want to live a holy life pleasing to You. I accept and believe that Your mercies are new every day. Thank You, Father God, in the name of Your son Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen
